Shelbourne Community Kitchen
Even the smallest garden can make a big difference in our community.
In collaboration with a group of Camosun College business students, the Shelbourne Community Kitchen will be piloting a small Grow-A-Row program for the 2017 season.
Grow a Row is a nation wide program that has connected local gardeners with food banks, and helped to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables for vulnerable communities for over 30 years. Gardeners are invited to dedicate a row of their garden in order to grow fresh produce for our Pantry program, which offers grocery support for over 170 people per month.
Registrants will receive a “Grow A Row” kit, along with ongoing gardening resources, tips, as well as access to workshops and Grow-A-Row themed-events throughout the season. Scheduled harvest pick-up is available within 3km of the Kitchen.
