Holiday Cards and Hospitality                             For the month of December

For the month of December, extra homemade holiday treats and hot beverages will be on offer during office hours to help make the season bright for all who visit. Sending a holiday card be expensive! Why not peruse our free holiday card station this December and send a card to loved ones, stamps provided (limit of 2/person).

 


Give the Gift of Homemade preserves            Wednesday, Nov 21 OR 28 – 10:30-12:30 pm

Share in the experience of making a selection of homemade preserves and decorate your jars with ribbons and holiday paper. Fantastic gifts! Preserves need to sit undisturbed for 24hrs, so the ability to pick up at a later date is required. Recipes for each session TBA.


Gluten-Free Christmas Cookie Bake & Swap Monday, Dec 3 – 3:30-6:30pm

During the Bake portion of this event registrants will learn to make 3 different gluten free holiday cookies and then swap with members from the community!

 

The Cookie Swap begins at 5:45 pm.  All are welcome to bring their home-baked treats to the swap. You will leave with a tin filled with a variety of treats.


All About the Stuffing                                            Tuesday, Dec  4 – 3:30-6:30 pm

                                                                                      
A fun and delicious cooking night where you will learn a variety of meat & vegetarian stuffed vegetable recipes as well as a delicious traditional stuffing recipe!


Holidays Around the World                                 Wednesday, Dec 5 – 3:30pm-6:30pm

(Family Program)

Our Kitchen Leads and Practicum students are teaming up to offer  a fun and festive afternoon for caregivers and their children. Activities will celebrate the many holidays and cultures from around the world that are celebrated in the month of December.  Activities will include after school snacks, special baking projects, arts and crafts and we will enjoy a simple dinner together.  Children ages 4-12. Space is limited so register soon!


Make a Living Wreath                                            Thursday, Dec 6 & 13 – 11:00 am-1:00 pm

You can make a beautiful holiday wreath using garden trimmings like cedar bows and salal. Come learn from our Gardeners, enjoy a hot chocolate or apple cider and make a wreath to take home.

ACCESSIBILITY:  It just got even easier to get cooking at the Kitchen!

If the extra trip to the Kitchen makes it a challenge to attend our cooking programs, we have two solutions that may be of help. Did you know that…..

  1. With advanced notice, you can access the Pantry after your cooking program is over and save a trip!
  2. Bus tickets are currently available to help participants attend our cooking programs (2/person/class while supplies last). Ticket requests can be made when you register.
