Off Site Food Storage Now Complete!

We did it! Our off-site food storage facility is now complete! With over 900 members tucked into a tiny bungalow, the completion of the Kitchen’s new off-site food storage space has made a world of difference in our capacity to source and store more food and serve more people.

Located just 6 blocks from our current location and in the same building as our next home, the new food storage space includes ample dry storage, a brand new walk-in cooler and two additional freezers. Incredible! As staff and volunteers continue to witness a sharp increase in new registrants at the Kitchen due to the pandemic, the increased food storage space has made a world of difference.

We want to send a heart-felt thank you to the amazing team from Cascadia Architects, Integral Group, Glyph Redesign, WSP Engineering, as well as David Gittens and Saint Michaels Univerity School for donating their skills and time over the past two years to make this project happen.

Thank you to our founding Partner Organization, Lutheran Church of the Cross for generously donating the space and collaborating with us throughout the project!
